William L. Simms–10/24/2023

William L. Simms was born September 3, 1932, to Gladys E. Simms, and is survived by his wife, Andora Simms, of 38 years of marriage, 48 years together.

He was educated in the Philadelphia school system. He entered the Airforce in 1979 and served 9 years.

Lee met Andora while employed by the Hertz Corp, where he worked his way from shuttling cars from location to location to the top position of City Manager. Upon leaving Hertz car rental he became the facility Manager for Telesciences in Moorestown, NJ, where he retired after 19 years.

Leroy was extremely talented with his hands doing home improvements. He could do it all and continued working after retirement well into his 80s. He was a resident of Montgomery County for more than 40 years. He enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, sudoku and various card games on his computer as well as keeping up on current events.

He is survived by his children Crystal Tann Roberts, Eric Simms, Deborah Simms, William L Simms, Jr.; stepson James W. Thomas, many many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

He lived a full, enriched life traveling extensively.

He passed peacefully after a short illness, on October 24, 2023, and is now in the hands of our Lord and Savior.. Peace be with you. You are already missed by many. Services will be private.

  1. I haven’t seen Mr. Simms in a lot of years but I’ll never forget him and the way he made us all laugh, the wonderful work he did at my home, his kind, sweet personality and sense of humor. He really was a wonderful man and I’m blessed to have known him God bless you Leroy and God bless your family. You are all in my prayers.
