Janet Mildred Battavio (nee Florentino), 79, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. She was the loving wife of 29 years to the late Franklin “Billy” Battavio.

Born July 3, 1944, in Lansdale, PA, Janet was the daughter of the late Nicola and Mildred (Liberto) Florentino. She graduated from Lansdale High School in 1962 and held various secretarial and restaurant positions over her working career.

She is survived by her sons, William, Jr. (Nancy) of Downingtown, PA, Thomas (Kathy) of Harleysville, PA, and preceded in death by her youngest son Jeffrey (Robin) of Las Vegas, NV.   “Nanny” is also survived by the five loves of her life, her grandchildren Ryan (Ali), Matthew, Alyssa, Caroline, and Connor. Janet is survived by her dear sister, Marie Cox, and was preceded in death by her brother, John Florentino, and her sister Amelia “Dolly” Vare-Vernachio. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A special acknowledgment to the nursing staff at Elm Terrace Gardens retirement community, who befriended her during her five years of residence there.

Janet enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and family vacations in Bethany Beach, DE.  She was an enthusiastic fan of all things Elvis Presley – songs, movies and memorabilia – and was thrilled to have had the opportunity to visit his Graceland home in Memphis, TN.

  1. Mom was my absolute favorite person to tell a joke to. Jeff always made sure I told her and Billy one every time we spoke. She would laugh for minutes on end. We loved it!
