David Moore—5/22/2020

David W. Moore
(1930 – 2020)

David W. Moore, 89, died on Friday, May 22, 2020 from complications associated with heart failure.

He was the husband of the late Nancy Y. Moore, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

Born on November 25, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, Dave was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Stewart) Moore.

Dave was a graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia, received his Bachelors degree from Drexel University and received a Masters Degree in Education from Lehigh University.

Dave served for several years in the United States Naval Reserve and always fondly recalled his trip to Havana.

Dave resided in Dublin, Pennsylvania, for 40 years and was an elementary school teacher and then Principal of Bedminster Elementary School until his retirement. Dave enjoyed skiing, sailing, traveling, bird watching and playing tennis.  He always remained close with his best friends from Boy Scouts and their wives, several of whom survive and remember him.

Dave spent his last year at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale where staff and residents remember him as a wonderful person.

Dave is survived by two sons, Jeffrey C. Moore and his wife Judy and Dwight Moore and his wife Allison. He is the beloved grandfather of five grandchildren, all of whom remember great times in the RV at Hershey Park:  David J. Moore, Kathryn M. Moore, Nicolas D. Moore, Cameron J. Moore and Chloe E. Moore.

Dave was preceded in death by a son Todd S. Moore.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
