Edward L. “Ned” James—12/12/13

Edward L. “Ned” James, age 71, of Hatfield died Thursday December 12, 2013 at Abington Hospital in Abington.

He was the husband of 47 years of Veronica M. “Ronnie” (Pruner) James.  Born in Wilkes Barre, PA. he was the son of the late Lewis and Cecelia (Devaney) James.

Mr. James graduated from Coughlin High School in Wilkes Barre.

He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964.

He worked as a Truck Driver for 35 years with Lehigh Valley Dairies, retiring in 2000.

Mr. James was an member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hatfield American Legion, the Lansdale Cannoneers, and the Lansdale Little Vets.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Jeffrey James and his wife Julie of Quakertown and Barrett James and his companion Alli of Colorado, his daughter Celeste James of Hatfield, his sister Maureen Miller and her husband Ronald of Wilkes Barre, grandchildren Marlaina and Savannah James, as well his mother-in-law Mary Fitzgerald of Glenside. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel “Buzz” James and his wife Diane.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45AM before Mass. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Edward’s name to the American Heart Association, 1617 JFK Blvd., Suite 700, Philadelphia, PA. 19103 or at www.heart.org. Arrangements are by Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home in Lansdale.
