Charles P. Reckner—12/12/13

Charles P. Reckner, age 85, of St. Mary Manor, Lansdale formerly of Towamencin Twp.
died December 12th at Mercy Suburban Hospital. Mr Reckner served Honorably in the US Navy following WW2 and prior to the Korean War.

Born in Hilltown, he was the son of the late William and Ida Champagne Reckner.
Mr. Reckner was a factory machinist at US Guage in Sellersville for 30 years retiring in 1996.

He was a devout member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Upper Gwynedd.
Mr. Reckner was a longtime faithful member of Pius 9th Council, Knight of Columbus, where he was elected many times as inside guard. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels with the Volunteer Medical Service Corps, the Legion of Mary at Corpus Christi Church and at St. Mary Manor in Lansdale.

He also enjoyed Barber Shop singing.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years Dorothy H. McGinley Reckner; his daughters Helene Coopersmith and her husband David of Sellersville, Charlotte DiNenna and her husband Sal of Bridgeport and Loretta Molnar of Lansdale; his sons Patrick Reckner and his wife Carol of Lansdale and Paul Reckner and his wife Vicky of Mainland; 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; his brother Joseph Reckner of Lansdale (the late Marie) and his sisters Annette Nichols of Lansdale (the late Bill) and Catherine “Cassy” Kauflie of Sebring, FL.

He was preceded in death by his sister Evelyn Grabowski and his brothers William and Harry Reckner.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9PM and Wednesday morning from 9 to 10AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446 and to attend his Funeral Mass at 11AM at Corpus Christi Church, 920 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA. 19446 (in Upper Gwynedd Twp). Interment St. John Neumann Cem.
