James N. Wagner

James N. Wagner, age 79, of Colmar died January 27th at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital. He had been in failing heath.

Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Royal Oaks, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Ruth M. Rice Wagner.

He has lived in Colmar for 41 years.

He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Royal Oaks and the University of Detroit, class of 1955. Jim was a huge University of Michigan football fan.

Mr. Wagner worked in sales with Huck Manufacturing of Waco, Texas retiring in 1998.
Jim was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale where he volunteered at the weekly parish bingo game for many years and the annual summer festival.

He was also a member of the Lansdale Catholic Father’s Club and coached LC’s freshmen football team. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Royal Oaks.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 57 years Marilyn J. Newberry Wagner and four devoted sons John J. Wagner and his wife Jeaninne of Durham, NC, Frederick J. Wagner and his wife Helen of Bethlehem, James C. Wagner and his wife Patricia of Harleysville and Michael J. Wagner and his wife Angela of Lansdale; 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson and brothers Anthony, William, Robert, John and Thomas Wagner and isisters Elizabeth Daly, Kathryn Flynn and Grace Heupel.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9PM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale and also on Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:45AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale folllowed by his Funeral Mass at 10AM. Interment St. John Neumann Cem.

For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name to St. Stanislaus Elementary School (for tuition assistance), 493 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446 would be preferred.
