Michael Joseph Wisniewski (Sticks)–3/28/2024

Michael Joseph Wisniewski (Sticks), 69, of Doylestown, PA passed away Thursday March 28th, 2024, at his home.

Born January 2nd, 1955, in Montgomery County. He was the son of the late Chester & Sarah (Rowley) Wisniewski Sr.

Mike grew up in Lansdale and graduated from Lansdale Catholic High School in 1973. There he found a love for football and played for the Crusaders. He later in life went on to graduate from Montgomery County Community College, earning his associates degree. While earning his degree he also worked at Merck for 10+ years.

Mike spent his remaining years living in Lansdale (until just recently moving to Doylestown). He dedicated many of those years to caring for his sister, SaraBeth.

Mike loved his grandchildren and spent lots of time talking to and about them. He enjoyed riding bikes, taking karate classes, reading books, singing, spending lots of time in the pool, and took quite a few summer vacations to OCNJ. Most of those activities were shared with his daughter. He never let the fact that he couldn’t see to drive stop him, figuring out just about every public transportation schedule that would take him where he needed to go. He was incredibly intelligent and loved to learn about anything and everything.

The room was always filled with smiles and laughter when Mike was in it. Always giving advice, telling a joke, or calling just to say “Hi.” He cared about everyone he met and was easy to get along with, making so many friends along the way. Anyone that met him, even just once, would gladly agree that he made his mark on them.

Michael is survived by his daughter Lauren and her husband Jared Getz of Quakertown,PA, his grandchildren Lily and Julian Getz, and his half-brother Peter Bossow of Philadelphia, PA.

He was preceded In death by his brother Chester Wisniewski and sisters Maryann Dobbins (Wisniewski) and SaraBeth Wisniewski.

Relatives and friends are invited to a receiving time from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM on Wednesday morning, April 10, 2024, at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446. There will be a Service to follow beginning at 11 AM.

  2. I worked with Mike at North Penn Transfer back in the day. There was always laughter when Mike was around. He worked with an office full of women and he ate up the attention. What a wonderful human being Mike was.

  3. So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Loved hearing his sense of humor and how we would all crack up when the Nuns at St. Stan’s would try to pronounce his name. Mike lived just down the street from us , off Hancock, back in the”Cherry Street neighborhood “. Our condolences to his family and all those who lives he touched.

  4. Stixs was one of my heroes. He always made you laugh and he always had a smile to know him was a privilege. Until we meet again buddy.
