Richard Giles Stoler, Sr. (1937-2024)

Richard ‘Dick’ Giles Stoler Sr., 87, of Ambler, PA, died in Chestnut Hill, PA on 2/17/24.

Dick was born in Philadelphia in 1936 to Elmer and Margaret Stoler.

Dick graduated Ambler Senior High School in 1954 and later attended for a time, Tusculum University in Tennessee and Temple University. He worked as a Prudential insurance agent for almost a decade and retired from the Department of Agriculture after over 25 years.

Dick enjoyed watching the Phillies games on TV with family and collecting items of interest, especially local history articles.  His years in his roles as Committee Chairman and Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts Troop 3, out of Ambler, also brought him great joy.

Dick is survived by his former wife Bonita Stoler, and their children, Amy Jean Stoler of Norristown and Richard Stoler Jr. of Ambler, and his wife Lisa, and their children Cass and Shayla, siblings John Stoler (preceded by Jane) of Bechtelsville, and Ann Landes (preceded by Lee) of Telford and their respective children as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446, with a Service to follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private.
