Mary A. (Belleba-Pruner) Fitzgerald—10/7/2022

Mary A. (Belleba-Pruner) Fitzgerald passed peacefully in her sleep while being lovingly cared for in her daughter’s home in Hatfield, PA on October 7, 2022. Having just turned 104, she was awarded a commemorative flag of the United States of America flown over the United States Capitol, presented by Congressman Brian K. Fitzpatrick at a celebratory family gathering.

Mary was born on September 19th,1918 in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania to Andrew Pavuk and Maria Babela. Mary had two children, Veronica and Dexter. She was a switchboard operator for Pennbrook Dairy, where she met her second husband, Richard Fitzgerald. The two married on November 29, 1975, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Glenside, where they resided together for 25 years and remained active members of the church. She loved gardening in their backyard and baking chocolate chip cookies for the family. She also enjoyed watching her favorite Philly sports teams and calling her grandchildren to talk about the post-game stats. Mary was blessed to live in Glenside until she was 100. Her children and grandchildren would visit often, and their photos were lovingly placed throughout her home. Mary had a witty way about her, always laughing and teaching us all to live a little lighter.

Mary was preceded in death by Richard Fitzgerald and is survived by: Veronica (Edward) James, Dexter (Renee) Pruner, Gloria (Alex) Noreika, Madge (Steve) Fosnot, and Mary (Mark) Rossi; 16 grandchildren: Mark (Stephanie) Rossi, Richard (Holly) Fosnot, Gloriana Noreika, Judi (Pat) Kane, Stephen (Diane) Fosnot, Jeannie (Samuel) Pace, MaryEllen Noreika, Christopher Fosnot, Lucia (Joe) Venneri, Keith (Cristina) Noreika, Jeffrey (Julie) James, Celeste James, Barrett (Alli) James, Jason (Erin) Pruner, Jessica (Ben) Poff, and Stephanie (Dan) Machovec and 27 great-grandchildren.

Please join us in celebrating the wonderful life of Mary Fitzgerald as we gather at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church on October 14th, from 1:30-2:30 pm. A mass in Mary’s honor will be held immediately following. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pennsylvania Warminster Hospice and/or St. Stanislaus Church.

  1. Grandmom was an amazing strong loving soul with an excellent wit. I have such great memories of her banana pancake breakfasts and her phenomenal chocolate chip cookies and of course the casino trips. So happy she’s up in heaven where she can walk and dance and wear her sassy fur coats and knit up some cozy blankets and where all of the horses she bets on come in first and just being able to be. Have fun up there Grandmom! <3

  2. Mary was an inspiration as she lived her life with such a loving spirit, and always a smile. Mary loved her family and was a loving caregiver to her late husband Richard. She believed in her guardian angel and I am sure that angel has guided her into the loving arms of God.Rest in peace ,Mary.
May your memory be a blessing to your family as they remember you and your legacy of love.
