John Muller—1/23/14

John Muller, passed away January 23  at 91. He was born and raised in a German community in the former Yugoslavia (Batschka Palanka) along the Danube River in 1922, he moved to Germany in 1941, and immigrated to the USA in 1949. He lived in Lansdale from 1952 until 2011, when he moved to Arbour Square in Harleysville. He was the loving husband of the late Hildegard A (Plefka) Muller for 52 years.

He is survived by his son, John Muller Jr. and wife Mary Ann of Franconia Township, two grandsons John J. Muller and wife Karen of Malvern PA and Mark R. Muller of Franconia Township. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Jake Muller and Claire Muller of Malvern PA, Brother Matthias Muller and wife Anna, three nieces and one nephew. He was employed by Baum’s Meat Packing in Hatfield PA for 33 years. He was a long time member of the Trenton Donauschwaben Association.

A member of St. Stanislaus church for 60 years, He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a loving, caring and giving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 29th, at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale PA. Viewing in the church will start at 9am. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10am. Burial to follow at St. John Neumann cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA 18914.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either the “Palankaer Heimatbrief” C/O Richard Slama, 7193 Isabelle Court, Windsor, Ont. N8S 4J6 Canada or for the Trenton Donauschwaben Association, 127 Route 156, Yardville NJ 08620.
