Michael V. Muscarella—1/15/2017

Michael V. Muscarella drifted peacefully home to our Lord early Sunday morning, January 15, 2017, surrounded by his family after an incredibly valiant fight against cancer.

A loving, gentle, humble, generous and hardworking man, Mike will be missed by all who knew him.

Mike grew up in Norristown, moving to Lansdale when he got married in 1970.  Mike’s greatest source of joy came from his beloved family.

The quintessential family man, Mike worked hard to provide his family with a good life, a strong faith and a happy home. Mike was a devoted member of St. Stanislaus parish for over 45 years. He joined the Army National Guard, and worked at Container Corporation of America and A & P Market before spending the majority of his working years at Clemens Family Market. Over the 40 years that he was employed there, he became a favorite boss of many, including all four of his children.  He was known for being laid back and caring, hardworking and kind, and sometimes just a little mischievous.

Upon retiring in 2005, Mike found more time to engage in his many hobbies including woodworking, gardening, cooking, tending to his Koi pond and tinkering in his expansive workshop. He loved spending time with his family in Ocean City, NJ, and helping family, friends and neighbors with all types of handy-man jobs.

Mike was good at many things, describing himself as a jack of all trades, master of none.  Yet, his family would disagree.  Mike was a master of fatherhood, and his absence will leave an unfillable void. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Beverly S. (Knerr) Muscarella, and their four devoted children and three grandchildren; James M. Muscarella and his wife Roseanne (Noone) Muscarella and their children Michael and Liliana, Gina Devlin and her husband Ryan and their son, Wyatt, Lisa Muscarella, and Lori Muscarella and her partner Kathryn Murray. In addition to his immediate family he is also survived by his brothers James Muscarella, Peter Muscarella, and sister Theresa Kelly and her husband Neil, mother-in-law, Marguerite (Yoder) Knerr, sisters in law Pam Linderman, Joan Waldspurger and Kriste Knerr, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Salvatore Muscarella and Jennie (Marino) Muscarella, two sisters-in-law, Alice (Smith) Muscarella (wife of brother James) and Diane (Campbell) Muscarella (wife of brother Peter) and his father-in-law Fred Knerr.
