Wayne Richards—1/4/2016

Image (92)The world lost one of its sweetest, most gentle souls on January 4, 2016, with the passing of Wayne Richards after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Wayne was a man who exuded kindness and found great joy in making the people around him happy. He maintained a positive attitude through any challenges placed before him, creating an aura of contentment that put everyone at ease.  Wayne enjoyed life on every level with his wife, best friend and soul mate, Bonnie. Their love for each other found that perfect spot where it was evident to all without being over the top. The twinkle in Wayne’s eye let you know he was more in love with his bride each day than the day before.

Wayne owned and operated the Eyeglass Place in downtown Lansdale for over 40 years. Over the years he was involved in several local organizations including the Boys Club and the Kiwanis Club and made many lasting and cherished friendships through these organizations.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children Valerie (Scott) and Veronica (Jeff); his grandchildren Matt, Randy and Hannah as well as brothers John and Ralph and sister Claire.

Wayne provided a glowing example of how to live life through a commitment to professional and personal excellence. He touched the world in a positive light in many ways, leaving a legacy of joy, class and love.

Wayne and his family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all close friends, medical team members and family who have offered their support and love throughout the years. You made a huge difference in our lives and we truly appreciate you.

Family and friends will celebrate a life well-lived with a Mass at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, Pa. 19446 (in Upper Gwynedd) on Friday January 8th  at 11am.  The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Friday Morning, before Mass. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice.  Arrangements by Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home in Lansdale.
