Shirley R. Finkelston—5/6/2015

Shirley R. Finkelston, age 75, of Colmar died on May 6, 2015 at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Emma Maiser Rohe.

She graduated from Germantown High School and has lived in the North Penn area since 1978.

Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, baking and gardening. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who brought love and joy to all who knew her.

She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield. She was also a member of the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) Support Group and belonged to the Fatima House in Bedminster.

Surviving is her beloved husband Robert J. Finkelston, Sr. and her children Denise (Paul) McGee of Kennesaw, GA, Joan (Walter) Whiteley of Perkiomenville, Robert J. (Loretta) Finkelston, Jr. of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Michael J. (Joanne) Finkelston of Trumbauersville and Shirley Anne (F. Joseph, Jr.) Loos of Gilbertsville, and 14 grandchildren; Lauren (Kyle), Elizabeth, Paul, Matthew, Meghan, Daniel, Emma, Anna, Robert, Andrew, Eric, Kristina, Frank and John. Also, surviving are her brother David A. (Pat) Rohe of Franklinville, NJ, her cousin Charlotte J. Stout, as well as 19 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kathryn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday, May 11th at 12:30 PM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Cowpath and Derstine Rds., Hatfield, PA 19440 where the family will receive friends Monday from 11:30 to 12:30. The family will also receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 PM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
