William J. Friel—3/13/2015

William J. Friel, 54, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania passed during the early hours of March 13, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; 2 sons, Wesley and Zachary; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. William graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1978.

William lost his life after a tireless fight with lung cancer, but he never lost his tender and devoted spirit. Throughout his entire life, William was a provider for those around him. He worked multiple jobs to give his wife and children the best home that he could, and yet he always found the time to be a present husband and father. He put family above all else, never missing a vacation or a holiday gathering. Up until his final moments, William worked to take as much strain off of his loved ones as possible.

He was a man who was equally as happy watching a football game in his living room as he was on extended family adventures. He also leaves behind an impressive collection of Eagles memorabilia.

Funeral services will be held at St. Stanislaus Parish Church (51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446), beginning with a public viewing at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. The funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM that same day, following the viewing.  Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
