David J. Schooley, Jr.—2/20/14

David J. Schooley, Jr., age 51, of North Wales died February 20, 2014 at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital. He had been in failing health.

Born in Philadelphia  and raised in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, he is the son of Carmella Grosso Schooley with whom he lived in North Wales and the late David J. Schooley.

Mr. Schooley graduated from Our Lady of Consolation Elementary School and Father Judge High School both in Philadelphia. He then attended the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill also in Philadelphia.

Mr. Schooley was the chef/cook for the Priests at St. Joseph University.
He was a member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery Township.

He also enjoyed shooting pool and playing cards.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his sisters Kristen Howard and her husband Paul of Warrington and Kimberly Szabo of Lansdale and his nieces Madeline Howard and Shelby Szabo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 25th at 10AM at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA. 19454 (in Montgomery Twp. between County Line and Horsham Rds.) where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 9 to 10AM. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery.

For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s memory to the American Diabetes Assn., 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA. 19004 would be preferred. Arrangements by Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, Lansdale.
