Donald J. Walsh, Sr.—12/3/2013

Donald J. Walsh, Sr., age 87, of Harleysville died December 3rd at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Irene Codick Walsh. He has lived in the North Penn area since 1943.

He served in the US Navy during WW2 in the Atlantic Theater including the invasion of Normandy and was later transferred to the Pacific Theater. transporting prisoners  of war.

Mr. Walsh had worked J. L. Freed Auto dealership formerly in Lansdale for many years, first as a mechanic and later in sales.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale.

Mr. Walsh was a longtime member of the Lansdale VFW and he also enjoyed hunting and golf.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 67 years, Arlene M. Hendricks Walsh, his daughter Cheryl A. Kelly and her husband John of Harrisburg and two sons Donald J. Walsh, Jr. and his wife Marie of Ocean City, NJ and Naples, FL. and Kevin Walsh and his wife Donna of Green Lane, 6 grandchildren Jennifer, Jonathan, Joseph, Donald III, Cassie and Andria and 6 great grandchildren Colby, Milo, Benjamin, Ryan, Austin and Chase.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Matthew and a brother William.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 7th  10:30AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Saturday in Church from 9:30 to 10:30AM. Interment St. John Neumann Cem.
