Francis Gaunay–2/2/2019

Frank Gaunay of Lansdale, formerly of Troy, NY died Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Einstein Medical Center in Norristown. He was the husband of the late Doris Gaunay (nee:Lynch) for 56 years.

Born in Watervliet NY, son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Gaunay, he resided in Lansdale for 58 years. He was employed for 42 years by the General Electric Company Space Division both in Malta NY and King of Prussia Pa.

Previously, Frank was a seaman first-class in the United States Navy in the Philippine Islands during World War 2.

Frank attended New York University, Brooklyn. He enjoyed running, golf, and cooking. He played golf for many years with GE retirees.

He was the beloved father of Steven Gaunay of Marlton NJ and Susan Gaunay of Eagleville Pa.

He was the cherished grandfather of Dr. Geoffrey Gaunay, and Great-Grandfather of Luke Francis Gaunay of Lancaster Pa, along with wife and mother, Dr. Fiona Gaunay. Brother of Thomas Gaunay, Elizabeth Nicoll and the late Raymond Gaunay.

Funeral services will be provided by the Simcox-McIlvaine funeral home, 532 East Main Street, Lansdale Pa. There will be a viewing from 12:00 to 1 PM at the Funeral Home on Saturday, February 9, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 1:30pm at Saint Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave in Lansdale. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Troy, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Frank Gaunay.
