George J. Wolf, Sr. – 6/3/13

wolfGeorge J. Wolf, Sr. age 90, of the Village of Neshaminey Falls, in Montgomery Twp. died Sunday, June 2nd at Quakertown Center in Quakertown.

Born in Wyndmoor, he was the son of the late August and Mary Winning Wolf.

Mr. Wolf graduated from Northeast Catholic High School and honorably and proudly served in the US Army in Europe during WW2. He fought in battles and campaigns in Naples, Foggia, Rome, Arno, Southern France and the Rhineland.

Mr. Wolf was a postal worker at the 30th Street Station in center city Philadelphia for 23 years retiring in 1982.

Mr. Wolf was a member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery Township.

He loved all Philadelphia sports teams and enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Mr. Wolf’s beloved wife, Marie Dubois Wolf, died in June, 2000.

Surviving are two daughters Agnes M. Bertram (wife of the late Mark R) of Neshaminey Falls, Mary McManus and her husband Pat of Langhorne, and two sons George J. Wolf, Jr and his wife Linda of Philadelphia and John Wolf and his wife Paula of Quakertown; 8 grandchildren Erin, Kelly, Jenna, Ashley, Lauren, Allison, Darci, and Johnny and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by grandchildren Megan and Chelsea, his sister Rita Haggerty and her husband John Haggerty and his brother Bill Wolf and his wife Sally Wolf.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday evening from 7 to 9PM and Thursday morning from 10 to 11:15 AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main Street, Lansdale, PA. 19446 and to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA. 19446 (in Montgomery Twp. between County Line and Horsham Rds). Interment St. John Neumann Cem.
