  1. My Uncle Jimmy was my father, Frank Kelley’s best friend. When we reconnected in 2012, the stories he shared of him and my late father, who I knew so little of, filled a void in my soul.

Uncle Jimmy was a gracious man. With a full house and six children he and my Aunt Mary took my sister and I under their busy roof for a couple Summers when we desperately needed a roof over our heads and food in our bellies.

Not too long ago, my Uncle Jimmy connected with me with my godmother, who I never met, and didn’t know existed.

In our late phone conversations, as a fellow veteran, I thoroughly enjoyed the stories he shared with me of his time in the army, and his chance at pro baseball.

My Uncle Jimmy lived during – and enjoyed life in – a time when a man with a high school education could enjoy a rewarding and long career as an A&P meat specialist, buy his own home and raise six great kids – my cousins. We could only hope to be so fortunate.

    Cheers to you Uncle Jimmy!

  2. I lived in the house across the street from Jim on East Main St in Miners-Mills.Although he was 13 years older,I remember Jim, and his sister Mary being friends with my older brother Ted, and my sister Wanda.Jim always had a smile for everyone. As life turned out, I am married to Jim’s cousin Leo (Ben) Schumacher. When Jim, and his wife Mary would winter in Anna Marie Island Fl.,we reconnected with them, and always had a lot of fun.I know Jim is looking down with love and smiles to his family and friends!
.Leo, and I feel Blessed to have had him for a friend, and cousin!

  3. I am thankful that I got to know Jim, he was a soft, kind and caring man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
    Marie and John
