Kathleen Marie Stagliano–9/22/2017

Kathleen Marie (Meier) Stagliano, age 70, of Hatfield, PA, passed away from sudden heart illness at Abington Memorial Hospital on September 22, 2017.

Kathy was born in Philadelphia on October 24, 1946 and grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.  After moving to Ambler, PA in 1960, she graduated from Archbishop McDevitt High School in 1964.

Kathy married the love of her life, Robert Charles Stagliano, on September 28, 1968.  The couple settled in Hatfield in 1969 to raise their four children; Kristen, Karen, Susan, and Andrew.

From its inception in 1993, Kathy was owner and President of RC Systems, Inc. a process control system engineering firm located in Hatfield, PA.  Kathy’s finance and accounting skill helped stabilize and grow the young company during its formative years.

Kathy was the beloved wife of Robert C. Stagliano and devoted mother of Kristen Tempestini (Richard) of Chalfont, Karen Brashear (Robert) of Hilltown, Susan O’Mara (Vincent) of Sellersville, and Andrew Stagliano of Hatfield.  She took great pride in being “Mom-Mom” to her nine grandchildren, Ryan, David, Julia, Bobby, Vincent, Allison, Maria, Kate, and Anthony.  Kathy was the dear sister to Alfred Meier (Amy), Loretta Stagliano (Joseph), and Sally Zenszer (William).  She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred Meier and Catherine (Harle) Meier, and her sister Loretta Stagliano.

Kathy was known for her strong opinions, her generous heart, and her unfaltering devotion to family and friends.  Kathleen enjoyed sewing, trivia night, Friday night card games, and Villanova basketball.  She was the first to arrive at her grandchildren’s birthday parties and she was happiest vacationing in Ocean City with family and friends.  Kathy was an enthusiastic member of the Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Abington Lansdale Hospital.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may call Thursday, September 28 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Kathy’s name to the Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Abington Lansdale Hospital through the Abington Lansdale Hospital Annual Fund, c/o Abington Health Foundation, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA  19001, online at give.abingtonhealth.org/annualfund or to the American Heart Association (Go Red for Women), 1617 JFK Blvd, suite 700, Philadelphia, PA  19103.  Arrangements are by Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home in Lansdale.
