Joseph E. Sullivan–5/2/2017

Joseph E. Sullivan, 74 years old, passed away peacefully on May 2nd.

Born in Philadelphia in January, 1943, he was the son of the late David and Julia Sullivan, the beloved husband of the late Denise Sullivan (nee Cavanaugh), the father of four children: Christine D. (deceased), Joseph D. (Joy), Charles J. (Gulnur) and John W. (Andrea), the loving grandfather to his four grandchildren Oscar, Albert, James, and Juliana, the loving brother to David (deceased) and Father Charles Sullivan, and the caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of La Salle College High School (’60) and La Salle College (’64), he served in the United State Marine Corps Reserve from 1964 to 1970. While working as a public accountant at Main Lafrentz, he married Denise Cavanagh in June 1968 and became a CPA. He then began a career in the Pharmaceutical Industry, first with SmithKline and later Pfizer Inc. A hard working and driven individual, he earned an MBA from Drexel University at night while supporting his family. In a career that took him around the world, he enjoyed sharing his travel stories with family and friends.

A resident of NE Philadelphia/Somerton, he relocated his family to Chalfont, Bucks County in 1977. He loved coming home to Sullivan Castle, where he could spend time by the pool and relax with his family.  A man of strong faith and moral values, he was a member of St. Jude’s parish since arriving in Chalfont. His other interests included history, travel, movies, Philadelphia sports and caring for the numerous pets at home.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Monday, May 8th at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Ave., (old Rt. 202), Chalfont, PA. 18914 where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00AM. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery.

For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joseph’s memory to Stray Cat Blues, P.O. Box 8, Colmar, PA. 18915 would be preferred.
