Elizabeth G. Trier—1/24/2017

Elizabeth G. Trier, a longtime resident of the North Penn area and Brittany Point, passed peacefully on January 24, 2017.

A Southern Belle, born in Savannah, Georgia on October 27, 1914 Elizabeth led a full and interesting life entertaining among others past US Presidents and celebrities at the  varied resorts run by her deceased husband, Robert Trier.

Elizabeth graduated from high school at age 14, spent the summer at Duke University studying-and enjoying life- and graduated from Georgia State College for Women in May, 1932, age 17. A great student but also a gifted pianist Elizabeth as a child played duets sitting on the lap of a fellow student, and soon to be become a famous musician, Johnny Mercer. She was filled, as was also everyone around her, to the brim with life.

She only kept two things in her refrigerator, champagne and orchids. She ate lobster, crab, oysters, and shrimp but hated seafood. She loved coca cola but only when it had rum in it. When she was a young woman everyone was always so nice telling her how to cook and such but she thought it was a better idea to marry a man with a chef. What a character, what a life.

She is survived by two sons, Robin and wife Dorothy, and Rusty and wife Sally, a nephew Ricky Parker and wife Lisa, as well as five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA. at 11 am on Saturday January 28, 2017 with a luncheon afterwards.
