Vincent J. DeFelice, Jr., age 90, of Lansdale died June 14, 2016 at Abington Health- Lansdale Hospital.

He is the beloved husband of 49 years of Shirley A. (nee. Smail) DeFelice. Born in Latrobe, PA., he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Rose (nee. Panizzi) DeFelice.

Mr. DeFelice worked in Health, Aquatics, and Physical Education at Simon-Gratz High School, Lincoln High School, and Wanamaker Junior High. He received his Undergraduate Degree from West Chester and Temple University, a Master’s Degree from Arcadia University and a second Master’s Degree from Temple University.

Mr. DeFelice served his country honorably with The United States Navy in the South Pacific and Antarctic.

He was a longtime member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church. In addition to his wife he survived by his beloved daughter, Melanie Samouhos and her husband Evan of Pittstown, NJ., four grandchildren and two sisters, Ellen Jane DeFelice and Judy Defelice.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Powers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church Chapel, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, (in Montgomery Township) PA. 19454, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 in the Chapel before Mass. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
