Antonio Paone—6/24/2016

Antonio (Tony) Paone, age 70, of Lansdale died suddenly on June 24, 2016 at his home.

He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.  Owner of the iconic VIP Men’s Barber Shop in Lansdale, he trimmed hair (and accidentally other facial features) for half the town.

A US Army Veteran, Tony served during Vietnam, was injured, and subsequently honorably discharged.  Retired, you could find him playing in the yard every day, sometimes with the grandkids…sometimes just by himself.

Tony took fashion cues from no one. His signature look was all his own: an open button-up shirt and wind pants or jeans.  Depending on the season, those were either full length or cut off (by his own doing of course). Teeth—well, those were optional too.

Born in Maida, Italy, he was the son of the late Nicola and Teresa (Pileggi) Paone. He is survived by his daughter Tina R. Paone and her husband Allen Jones of Lansdale; his son Anthony J. Paone and his wife Amanda; his six grandchildren; Nicholas, Christopher, Lia, Anthony, Matthew, and Joe; his brothers Frank and his wife MaryAnn Paone of Colmar and Vincent and his wife Mary Paone of Hatfield; his sisters Angela and her husband Domenico Roselli of Fort Washington and Concetta and her husband Antonio Zaccone of Ambler.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday June 30, 2016 at Simcox-McIllvaine Funeral Home at 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446. Viewing will be held from 9am-11am with a memorial service honoring Tony at 11am. You won’t want to miss it, as it will embody all that was loved about him. Burial service will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 714 Dekalb St. Norristown, PA  19401 after the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, go get a pizza in his honor—that is what he would have wanted. Smile while you eat that pizza and think of the good memories you had with him.

  1. My brother Tony was one of a kind. Loving, Caring and would do anything for you. He loved his family more than himself. I will miss him terribly. Rest in peace, your loving sister Concetta (Teta)

  2. A Daughter Never Forgets Her Daddy

    I have to admit that
    I was a Daddy’s girl.
He told me he loved better
Than anything else in the world.

    When I became a woman
He walked me down the aisle,
    And gave me away
    With a bittersweet smile.

    And when I gave birth,
    He was there, too
To greet my little ones and say
    Hello, I love you.

And now that man who loved me,
And wrapped me in arms so strong
Has gone where I can’t reach him,
But my love for him lives on.

    I’ll keep his memory alive,
    and honor all he believed,
And just feel so very grateful
For all his love that I received.

    I love you Daddy!
