James Peart—5/26/2016

James F. Peart, age 84, of Hatfield, formerly a 60 year resident of Lansdale, died May 26, 2016 at Dock Meadows Retirement Community.

Born in Sumneytown he was the son of the late Sidney and Fannie (Reed) Peart.  He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Todorow) Peart who died in 2001.

Mr. Peart worked as a Tool and Die Supervisor for William M. Wilson and Sons which later became Gasboy International. Serving with the United States Army, Mr. Peart served his country honorably as a gunner during the Korean War.

Mr. Peart played softball for the Cannoneers Club, was an avid golfer,  played balloon volleyball and was the Farkle Champion of the Dock Meadows Community.  He was passionate about all the Philadelphia sport teams.

Surviving are his three loving children: daughter, Debbie Peart of Gwynedd, sons Jim Peart and his wife Tina of Telford and Kenneth Peart and his wife Teri of Hatfield, grandchildren Amy and Bailey Peart, brothers Ray and Walter Peart and sisters Patricia Hank, Joan Teele and Dorothy Walbert.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert, Sidney and Mark Peart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM, Tuesday morning before the Service.  Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park,  Ambler (in Horsham Twp).  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. Peart’s name may be made to ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA. 19002 or online at www.alsphiladelphia.org.
