Charles Anthony Angelo—5/13/2016

Charles Anthony (Bud) Angelo, age 78, passed away on May 13th, 2016 at Abington Lansdale Hospital

Bud was born on November 22, 1937, in Mount Carmel, PA. The only child of Anna Marie (Owens) and Charles Henry Angelo. They moved from Mount Carmel to Philadelphia, where Bud attended Roman Catholic HS. There he played the French horn in the school band. Or rather he faked playing the French horn, in exchange for the trips to the football games. Graduating in 1955 he enlisted in the Marine Corps. Three years later he was honorably discharged.

After the Corps, Bud returned to Philadelphia, where he obtained a job at First Pennsylvania Bank. Here he met his wife, Jane, at the company Christmas party. Upon seeing her, he walked to her and asked her to marry him. Without hesitation, she answered yes. Bud later explained that he promised himself, if he ever encountered a woman drinking a beer from a bottle, he’d ask her to marry him. Jane always said it was a good thing there were no glasses at that party otherwise we may never have met. Eventually, he did ask her to marry him.

They married on September 24, 1966, at St John Cantius in Philadelphia. Soon after they welcomed three children into the family, 2 girls and a boy. The family moved from Philadelphia to Hatfield, in 1975 where they raised their family. Bud continued working in the banking industry. Starting with First Pennsylvania Bank, and then Central Penn National Bank, and finally Fidelity Bank before transiting to the sales industry. Bud worked for NCS then later Sunguard Systems before finally retiring in 2002.

After retiring, he spent his days helping to raise his grandchildren, imparting his wisdom to a new generation. Bud and Jane were married for 49 years 4 months and 13 days.

Bud is survived by his wife Jane and his three children, Lisa Wright and her husband Robert, Jennifer Morris and her husband Gary, and his son Michael and his wife Laura. Along with his six grandchildren: Ethan, Sarah, Justin, Nathan, Shane, and Gannon.

Services are Thursday, May 19th, 2016 at St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale. Receiving from 10-11 with the funeral mass to follow. A reception following the service is at the family home in Hatfield.

Instead of flowers, the family is requesting donations in tribute at either the Michael J Fox Foundation or CHOP.

Bud touched more lives than he will ever know, and instilled in us a sense of family that will carry on for generations to come.
