Mary R. Sandone—4/20/2016

Mary R. “aka Nana” Sandone, age 97, of Colmar, died peacefully on April 20th at her home in Colmar.

Born on September 11, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Laura Calise Florentina. Mrs. Sandone has lived in Lansdale her entire life. Her beloved husband of 75 years, Joseph J. Sandone, died April 15, 2015.

Mary was a lifelong member of Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale.

Mary had worked for a number of local businesses including Treizel’s Pretzel Bakery  where she worked in packaging, Glasco Sweater Factory where she worked as an inspector, Hatfield Packing, Tony’s Italian Restaurant, Coffee Corner and the cafeteria at Lansdale Catholic.

She also enjoyed local bingo games, casino trips and was well known  for her Sunday dinners where she served her famous homemade meatballs.

Surviving is her son Anthony J. Sandone and his wife Kathy with whom she lived in Colmar and two daughters Maryann Russell and her husband James of Port St. Luci. Florida and Linda Woods of Lansdale; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and her sister Molly Taylor of Lansdale. She was predeceased by her brothers Michael, Johnny, Sammy, Salvatore and Baby Samuel and her sister Jean Deviancy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 27th at 11AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:45AM. Interment at a later date in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
