Feliciano Baez-Borges—4/5/2016

BaezFeliciano Baez-Borges (affectionately known as Papi), age 90, a longtime resident of Harleysville and formerly of Philadelphia, died Tuesday Evening, April 5, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Maria J. Baez on April 18, 2006.

Born in San Lorenzo Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Jose Baez and Josefa Borges.

Mr. Baez-Borges worked as a Machine Operator in the Canning Industry. He was a longtime employee of The Laddie Boy Co. where he was the Shop Steward for the local Teamsters Union.  Mr. Baez-Borges Served his Country Honorably with the United States Army from 1951 to 1954, fighting bravely in the Korean War.

During his life he enjoyed many hobbies, including repairing bicycles, watches and clocks, and playing dominoes.  He helped raise his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them as they grew older.  Growing up he loved to play baseball and his favorite professional player was fellow Puerto Rican, Roberto Clemente.

He is survived by three loving children; daughters, Heyda I. Toth and her husband Michael J. of Harleysville and Lourdes G. Baez of Lansdale and son Felix A. Baez of Philadelphia, 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM. at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike (at Supplee Rd.), Lansdale (in Upper Gwynedd Twp.), PA. 19446, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM. before Mass.  Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Feliciano’s name may be made to, Community Home Services, 672 Main St., Harleysville, PA. 19438 or Health Quality Partners, 875 N. Easton Rd., Suite 10, Doylestown, PA. 18902.  Arrangements are by Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home in Lansdale.
