Miriam “Mim” Hazzard—2/19/2016

One of our long time Lansdale residents will be missed.  Miriam Esther Hazzard knocked at heaven’s door and was greeted with open arms on Friday, February 19, 2016.

Miriam Picture (1)Miriam, known to all as “Mim”, was born on January 27, 1951 in the beautiful town of Naranjito, Puerto Rico.  She is survived by her husband Joseph Hazzard and two sons, Jason and Joseph “Joey”.  Her parents, Antonio and Manuela Rivera greeted Miriam at heaven’s door along with her oldest brother Oscar.  Her other loving family members are  Sonia Risell, Briseida Rivera, Lucy Nelson and her husband Ken, Manuel “Manny”, David and his wife Donna, Tony “Junior”, George and his wife Cindy.

Miriam worked for the United States Post Office for over 27 years.  She also worked at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin Law firm prior to her years at the post office.  Most who knew Mim in the early years remembered her love for children and years of babysitting for many of her friends.

Family and friends will celebrate her wonderful life with a Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave. Lansdale, PA 19446, where the family will greet all her loving relatives and friends for a receiving time, beginning at 9:30 AM that same morning before Mass. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont following the Mass.

  1. The world lost a wonderful person and Heaven gained an angel. Mim will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved her for the courageous, loving, truly inspirational person she was. It was a privilege to have had a place in her life.
