Anna M. Raffaele—1/22/2016

annaThe world lost one of its most amazing and unique souls when Anna (“Sis”) M. Raffaele, age 83, of Lansdale, formerly of Philadelphia, was called home on January 22, 2016 while at Abington-Lansdale Hospital.

Born February 5, 1932 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Hynes) McAdams.

Anne or “Sis”, as her family and friends knew her, resided at Schwenckfeld Terrace in Lansdale and had been a long time resident of Northeast Philadelphia.

She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School. Her hard work and dedication led her to Frankford Hospital School of Nursing where she worked her way up from Secretary to Director of Financial Aid.  Later she competed against candidates who had their college degrees for the position of Director of Financial Aid at Holy Family University and she met that challenge by defeating the competition and achieving the title of Director. In her retirement, she enjoyed working at Distelfink Bakery.

Anna’s loving legacy exists in her surviving family: James W. Raffaele, Sr.; her son, James W. Raffaele, Jr. and his wife Dolores (Dee) of Sellersville; her son, Michael J. Raffaele and his wife Margaret (Peg) of Warrington; her daughter, Carylann Graham and her boyfriend David Deegan of Bethlehem; her 7 grandchildren, James W. III ( spouse, Michelle), Jennifer (spouse, Brian Rogers), Ashley, Alanna, Michaela, Patrick (Graham), Shannon (Graham), her 3 great- grandchildren, Tyler, Liam, and Aubrey and her future great-grandchild, Baby Rogers. She was also survived by her sister, Margaret (Peggy) McKeever and predeceased by her brother Francis (Frank) McAdams.

Family and friends will celebrate her wonderful life with a Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave. Lansdale, PA 19446, where the family will receive all her loving relatives and friends for a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM that same morning before Mass. Interment will be private.

For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made in Anna’s loving memory to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org/donate or by mail to National Kidney Foundation Finance Department 30 East 33rd St.  New York, NY 10016.
