Florence H. Brown—12/23/2015

Florence H. Brown, age 95, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Philadelphia, died on December 23, 2015 at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital in Lansdale.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Tekla Solecki. She has lived in Florida for 27 years. Mrs. Brown was a cafeteria worker at John F. Kennedy High School in Willingboro, NJ.

Her husband, Michael J. Brown, Sr., died on February 14, 1990.

She was an active member of Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL.

She did volunteer work at the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in Melbourne, FL.

She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed reading and going to the movies but mostly enjoyed being with her family.

Surviving are two daughters Kathleen Wisdom and her husband Harry of Burnsville, Minn., and Maureen Weber and her husband Glenn of Ambler and three sons Michael J. Brown, Jr. and his wife Laurie Mechler of Keller, TX., James F. Brown and his wife Kathy of Gallaway, NJ and Kevin Brown of Wilkes Barre; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday evening, December 29th from 7 to 9PM and Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446 and to attend her Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church, Lansdale on Wednesday, December 30th at 10AM. Interment at a later date at the US National Cemetery in Buchnell, FL.
