Ethel M. Glackin, age 82, of Souderton, formerly of Upper Gwynedd, died on Oct. 31, 2015. She had been in failing health.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anne Lang Frank.

She graduated with an associates degree from Gwynedd Mercy College in 1953 and also Little Flower High School.

Ethel was a homemaker  and most recently a member of St. Maria Goretti Church in Hatfield. While living in Upper Gwynedd, she was a very active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir, volunteered at the annual Christmas Bazaar and the annual summer festival where she was for many years in charge of the festival garage sales.

She also volunteered at North Penn Hospital. Ethel and her husband Jim where long time member of North Hill Country Club.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 57 years, James J. Glackin; her daughter Mary Anne Hannings and her husband Randy of Lansdale and her sons Charles F. Glackin and his wife Christina of Villanova, Michael J. Glackin of Lansdale and Christopher V. Glackin of Jeffersonville. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and her sister Ginny Frank Mackin of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her baby boy son James Glackin and her sisters Betty Frank, Mary McManus and Veronica Zimmerman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday Nov. 5th ay 11AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cem. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ethel’s memory to St. Stanislaus Church, (address above) or St. Maria Goretti Church 1601 Derstine Rd., Hatfield, PA. 19440 would be preferred.
