Edward J. Monaghan—9/6/2015

Edward J. Monaghan, age 90, of The Village of Neshaminy Falls in North Wales died, Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the South Eastern Veteran’s Center in Spring City, PA.

Mr. Monaghan had previously lived in the Rhawnhurst section of Philadelphia.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret Hardnock in April of 2007.

Born in Ashland, PA., he was the son of Edward and Martha (nee. O’Brien) Monaghan. He was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School and Drexel University.   Mr. Monaghan worked as an Investigator with Equifax Retail Credit Co.  He served his Country Honorably with the Army Air Corp. in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. While living at Neshaminy Falls he was active in the community, especially the Choral Group. He enjoyed traveling throughout his life.

Mr. Monaghan served as an usher at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church.

Surviving are nephews; James, William, Joseph, Jack and Paul Hardnock, one niece, Anne Marie Lanetti and many great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his  Memorial Service on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11 AM. at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM., before the Service.  Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
