William J. Quain Sr.—8/12/2015

FullSizeRender (1)William J. Quain Sr., age 87, of North Wales passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, where he had been a resident.  He was surrounded by his loving family.

In addition to North Wales he had formerly lived in Germantown and Ocean City.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kay (nee. Haggerty) Quain.

Mr. Quain was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Prep and St. Joseph’s University. He was employed for many years with the Xerox Corporation in sales and later worked in real estate sales.

Mr. Quain spent many happy summers in Ocean City, NJ with his family.  He was known for his community volunteer activities over the years. During WWII he served his country honorably with the US Army.

Mr. Quain was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and was currently  a member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish.  Surviving are his loving children; William J. Quain, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Ocean City, NJ., Diane M. Klotz and her husband Fred of Midlothian, VA., John M. Quain and his wife Megan of Harrisburg,  Maliz DePaul and her husband Lou of North Wales, Joan T. Reyes and her husband Julio of Lady Lakes, FL., Cynthia Q. May and her husband Terrence of Roanoke, VA., and Jeannine Q. Norris and her husband Peter of Phoenixville as well as 15 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.

The Quain family would like to thank the staff at Elm Terrace Gardens for the loving and compassionate care given to their Dad.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Quain’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Rd, North Wales, PA. 19454, where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10:15 AM in the Narthex before Mass.  Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. Quain’s name can be made  to, “At Least Kids Foundation”, funding pediatric brain tumor research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  Please make checks payable to “At Least Kids Foundation” and send to 356 Vista Dr., Phoenixville, PA. 19460.
