Image (62)Edgar Vernon Johnson, age 83, of Copperhill, TN, formerly of Lansdale, died on June 17, 2015 at his residence. He had been in failing health.

Born in Ducktown, TN., he was the son of the late John and Ella Coleman Johnson.

Mr. Johnson served for 23 years in the US Air Force including service in Korea and Vietnam.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, Ed took a position with the US Postal Service working out of the Lansdale Post Office. He retired after 20 of service.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a longtime member of the Lansdale VFW, Post 32.

Ed’s beloved wife, Ethel Kidd Johnson, died on May 21, 1991.

Surviving are his two devoted daughters Sandra Levinsky and her husband Stanley of Hatfield and Michelle Hemmerle and her husband Jeffrey of Lansdale and seven grandchildren Shana, Jennifer, Jaimee, Amanda, Amber, Bryan and Tyler and 10 great grandchildren Jordan, Willie, Jesse, Caleb, Delilah, Maggie, Eli, Andrew, Melia and Aaron.

He was preceded in death by brothers Bill, Cotton, Bingy, RK, Roy and Buck and his sister, Ruth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, June 27th at 11AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Saturday from 9 to 11AM. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery, North Wales.
For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed’s memory to the Amedisys Hospice, 614 Congress Parkway North, Athens, TN.  37303 would be preferred.
