Joseph J. Sandone—4/15/2015

Joseph J. Sandone, age 96, of Colmar, died, Wednesday Morning, April 15, 2015.

He was the beloved husband of 74 years, of Mary R. (nee. Calise) Sandone.

Born in West Philadelphia he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Josephine (nee. Lombardo) Sandone.  He has lived in the North Penn area since 1945.  Mr. Sandone  worked as a Barber and Supervisor at AEL Industries retiring in 1986.  In his later years he worked closely with the FBI.  Mr. Sandone proudly served his country with The United States Army during WWII as an Ambulance Driver.  He was a member of the Hatfield American Legion. Throughout his life he was an avid fan of both Baseball and Boxing and in his younger years was a  Minor League Baseball Prospect and a Boxer for the US Army.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Anthony J. Sandone, Sr.,  and his wife, Kathy of Colmar, his two daughters; Maryann Russello and her husband James of Port St. Lucie, FL. and Linda Woods and her husband Gerard of Lansdale as well as 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Lena Ricci.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA. 19446, where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 AM Monday morning before Mass.  Interment Private.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Joseph’s name to Lansdale Catholic High School, 700 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA. 19446.
