Paul E. Spotts, Sr.—3/25/2015

Paul E. Spotts, Sr., age 78, of Hatfield died on March 25th at his residence. He had been in failing health. He has been a resident of Hatfield since 1967 and formerly from West Oak Lane, Philadelphia.

Born in Millersburg, he was the son of the late Carson and Catherine Stoneroad Spotts.

Mr. Spotts graduated from Dobbins High School in Philadelphia. He attended LaSalle College. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. Paul worked in the Aerospace Program at General Electric for 35 years, retiring in 1984. He was an assistant Boy Scout leader at St. Stanislaus in Lansdale.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 55 years, Dianne M. Musacchio Spotts; his daughters Judi Metzler (husband Darrell) of Souderton, and Lori A. Rapp of Philadelphia; his sons, Paul E. Spotts, Jr of Hatfield and Jeff Spotts (wife Angela) of Pottsgrove; his grandchildren Tim, Melissa, Rachael, Becky, Heather, Travis, Jacob, Justin, Brandon, and Bryanna; and his great grandchildren Anabell, Kay, Addison, Claire and Makenzie. Also surviving is his brother Carson Elwood Spotts (wife Agnes) of New Jersey, and sister Lois Waters (husband Don) of Millersburg. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Patti Drumm, and Betty Stermer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Tuesday, March 31st at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446. The family will receive friends from 9:30am to 10:45am. Service will commence at 11am. Interment at a later date in Millersburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions in Paul’s memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 3331 Street Rd., Suite 410, Bensalem, PA. 19060.
Mr. Spotts had a colorful personality and never wore black to a funeral. Please join us in celebrating Paul’s life – wear your favorite color !

  1. We were so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. We enjoyed his company and his stories when we were at our cabin in Clearfield County. He was always so thoughtful and will be greatly missed.
