Josephine M. Podhor—1/23/2015

Image (56)Josephine M. “Josie” Podhor, age 94, of Brookdale Senior Living in North Wales, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2015.  She was the beloved wife of the late George J. Podhor who died in July of 1983.

Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Grassi) Leo.  She was employed by the North Penn School District for over 28 years working in the Cafeteria at North Penn High School.

Mrs. Podhor was very active throughout her life. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lansdale Fire House, The Fraternal Order of the Eagle Lodge and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Mrs. Podhor enjoyed taking trips to the Atlantic City Casinos, making gift tags, Christmas Eve dinner, her house (especially the back porch), nature, and being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Later in life she found great contentment and loving friendships at Brookdale.

She is survived by her three loving children; daughters, Louise Sagolla and her husband Michael of Lansdale and Joanne Fazio and her husband Bill of Norristown and son George Podhor and his wife Susan of Buckingham, Granchildren; Kimberly Bosco (Frank), Gabrielle Bruni (Rob), Michael Fazio, and John and Jill Podhor, great grandchildren; Vincent, Dominic and Luna as well as one brother Tom Leo. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Leo and sister Jennie Rose.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Viewing Wednesday evening, January 28th from 6 to 8 PM, at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA. 19446, and again Thursday morning January 29th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM also at the Funeral Home, which will be followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.,Thursday, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA. 19446.  Interment Greenlawn Cemetery.
