Rosalie S. Mason—4/17/14

image001Rosalie S. Mason of Harleysville passed away April 17, 2014 after a brief illness at Abington Lansdale Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 75.

Born in Philadelphia 10/22/1938 she was born to the late John Cunningham & Rose Ann Lee.

Rosalie graduated from Little Flower High School in 1957. She married Francis Sheridan and had four children – Joanne, Janet, Judy and Daniel. She lived most of her married life in Willow Grove.

Rosalie had and still has many childhood friends aka ( The Girls) who still got together regularly reminiscing about the old days and keeping up on what is going on in their daily lives.

Over the years Rosalie had several jobs other than raising 4 children. She was the backbone and the behind the scenes secretary of Sheridan & Bisset Heating and Air Conditioning, a crossing guard for Upper Dublin Township and then she was a cafeteria worker for the Upper Dublin High School for many years. Rosie had a great rapport with teenagers and young adults. Everyone was always welcome in her home. No one ever left hungry or thirsty when Rose was around! Holidays were usually at Rosalie’s home — it was the central location for many, many happy affairs.

In April of 1993 Rosalie married the love of her life Howard Mason. She knew him in her younger years only to meet him again and share the remainder of her life with him. Through their relationship they shared everything together — going on trips, being with family, friends, The Girls and welcoming 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren into this life. Even with their very busy lives, when Rosalie’s daughter Judy was unable to take care of her children, Rosalie and Howard stepped in, took them into their home and raised James Dale and Lindsay Miracle to be the wonderful adults they are today.

Rosalie will not only be missed by her loving husband Howard Mason but she will be truly deeply missed by her children Joanne S. Mann & her husband Edmund Mann, Jr.; Janet S. Ingram; Daniel Sheridan and his wife Tina; Step children Patricia (Mason) and her husband Victor Marin; Howard Mason (JR) and his wife Autumn and their adopted grandchildren James Dale Miracle and his wife Erica and Lindsay Miracle. She is also survived by her brother Jack Cunningham and his wife Mary as well as many nieces and nephews. Rosalie was preceded in death by her daughter Judith Sheridan Miracle, her first husband of many years, Francis Sheridan, and her brother Robert Cunningham.

Relatives and friends will be received at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home Inc., 532 East Main Street, Lansdale, PA  19446 from 9:30 – 10:45 on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2014 and are then invited to join the procession across the street to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, Pa. 19446 for Rosalie’s Memorial Mass which will begin at 11:00 AM.  Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Rosalie’s name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 1. Rosalie was one of the first of my wifes extended family to make me feel welcome and accepted with a smile and a hug that made me feel like we were family from the first time I met her. I always felt like we had a connection no matter how much time passed between visits. I think of Rose often and will miss her.
