Patricia “Pat” Wilson—4/7/2014

Patricia “Pat” M. Wilson, age 77, died Monday April 7, 2014 at Abington Hospice at Warminster.

She was the beloved wife of 55 years of Robert “Bob” Wilson whom she met in 1st grade.  Born in Shenandoah Heights she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Yancofski) Nevadomsky.

Pat was a coal miner’s daughter from the patch of St. Nicholas near Mahanoy City in Schuylkill County where she grew up with her beloved sister, Rose, and where her family ran a small grocery and goods store. She regaled her family with stories about those days, especially about the parties that would be held at the store when the local boys were going off to serve.

When she met her husband in 1st grade she announced to her mother that she was going to marry that boy with the red hair, blue eyes and glasses. She and  that boy married in 1959 and moved to North Wales, a town she loved as much as the old patch. For many years she was the proprietor of a North Wales Hair Salon where customers became long-time family friends.

She enjoyed spending time with family, and especially looked forward to the annual beach and lake vacations when the entire family would gather. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Wales, and was a longtime volunteer at the task of washing altar linens.

She will be remembered for playing her piano, cheering for the Phillies at home and in Clearwater, being an excellent Scrabble player, being a devoted wife, a great band-, theatre-, and all-around Mom, and for always doing her crossword puzzles in ink.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her three children: Pamela A. Wilson of Worcester Twp., Robert M. Wilson, Jr. of Nashville., TN., and Renee W. Furtado (Rick), four grandchildren: Charles and Daniel Gruber and Abigail Bartlett and Jackson Furtado as well as one great grandchild Juliette Shuit.
