Margaret A. Hangey—2/2014

Margaret A. Hangey, age 90, formerly of North Wales died at ManorCare in Montgomeryville where she had been a resident for 5 years.

She was the beloved wife of Clarence R. Hangey, Jr., who died in 1969.  Born in Chestnut Hill she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine (Huber) Davis. Mrs Hangey spent most of her childhood and adult life in North Wales, PA. and was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

During the 1960’s she was Cafeteria Manager at Gwynedd Mercy Elementary School. As a young women, Mrs Hangey  (then Peggy Davis) was crowned Miss Forest Park at the Amusements Park’s annual competition.

Surviving are her sons; Ronald G. Hangey and his wife Peggy of Audubon, J. Dean Hangey and his wife Kathleen of West Point and Mark B. Hangey of West Chester, and her daughter, Dawn M. Hanley of Upper Gwynedd as well as 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Michael B. Hangey and brother George Davis.

Funeral Services will be private.

  1. My sincere condolences to the Hangey family. I had the wonderful gift of meeting Margaret when you employed Community Home Services and I was one of her aides.We immediately connected and after a few visits, we realized I worked w/Mark many years ago at Alfalfa’s. That brought a bond between us and she was able to relax and have a lot of fun when we were together (which was never often enough). God love her – she was a joy to be with. May all the memories of your mom bring you peace. She loved each of you so very much. Kathy Gross Abele
