Claire Emilie Kalb—1/24/14

Claire Emilie Kalb, age 89, of Harleysville passed away on January 24, 2014 one month before her 90th birthday.

Claire was born in Ludwigshaffen, Germany, the only daughter of the late Heinrich and Emilie Stahl.

She was married to Joseph Kalb who passed away in 1984. 

Claire, Joseph and their only daughter Judy immigrated to the United States in 1951 to find a better life and see New York.

Formerly living in Hatfield and Souderton, Claire worked at the American Olean Tile Company as a sorter until it closed. She then worked at Linen and Things in sales until she retired in 2004.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Lederach and her husband James of Lederech, two granddaughters Theresa  Slover and her husband Frank of Towamencin and Jennifer Moyer and her husband Darren of Harleysville and four great grandchildren  Dani Slover of Chicago, Joseph Slover of Towamencin  and Sydney and Ethan Moyer of Harleysville.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 29th at 2 pm at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main Street, Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 to 2 pm. Interment will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Claire’s memory to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 500 W. Main Street, Lansdale, PA. 19446 would be preferred.
