Eleanor M. Geisz

Eleanor M. Geisz, age 89, of Blue Bell, formerly of Harleysville died Monday, February, 27, 2012 at Normandy Farms Estates where she has been a resident for 9 years. Recently, she had been in failing health.  Mrs. Geisz was the beloved wife of the late John A. Geisz who died in December of 1998.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Urban. Mrs Geisz lived most of her life in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. She graduated from Hallahan High School, class of 1940 and went on to work as a Legal Secretary for the US Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia.  Mrs. Geisz also worked as a Secretary at the Montessori School at Ravenhill Academy in the East Falls section of Philadelphia. Following her years at Ravenhill, she again worked as a Legal Secretary in the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia. Throughout her entire life she volunteered in various capacities, including serving as a nurse’s aid at Jefferson Hospital during WWII, serving as President of Auxiliary of Northwestern Human Sevices and later at the Wellness Center in Lansdale.  She played the Violin with the Germantown Symphony Orchestra.  Mrs. Geisz was a devoted member of Corpus Christ Catholic Church in Upper Gwynedd.  Surviving are three loving children; daughters Mary B. Geisz and her husband Keith Pryor of Bryn Mawr and Barbara G. Demarest and her husband Andrew of Hummelstown, PA and one son John E. Geisz and his wife Doris Mack of Julian, PA. and 4 grandchildren Rebecca and Luke Pryor and Julia and Daniel Demarest and her sister Helen Humanick of Media. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Urban.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday, March 5th at 10AM at Corpus Christi Church, 920 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA. 19446 (in Upper Gwynedd Twp) where the family will receive friends Monday from 9 to 9:45AM.  Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
